He was born on March 7, 1944.

He started his professional football career at the age of 19 at Neftchi. During 1963-1965, 1967, 1969-1972, he played 89 games and scored 14 goals for our team. He finished his football career in 1972 at Neftchi.

Then he started coaching in our team. From 1978 to 1979 he worked as an assistant to head coach Gennady Bondarenko. In 1984-1986, 1989-1990, 1997-1998 he worked as the head coach and coach of "Neftchi".

Ruslan Abdullayev died on January 30, 2002.
