Samir and Aydin Alakbarov are among the players who played the most among the brothers who played for Neftchi. In general, Samir has a special place among the players who played for Neftchi. Unlike his brother, Samir, who had the opportunity to play for Neftchi during the Soviet era, has since proved himself as a talented striker. In the history of our national championships, he was one of the leaders of "Neftchi", demonstrating the qualities of a bomber. Samir Alakbarov, one of the best players of our first national championship, was named the best football player of the year. His goals in the first championship in 1992 played a big role in Neftchi's gold medals.
1992 was also a successful year for Aydin, who also finished the season with the title. But the difference is that at that time Aydin won the national cup, defending the honor of another representative of Baku, "Inshaatchi", not "Neftchi". It is interesting that on the way to the cup the Alakbarov brothers face each other and in the semifinal "Inshaatchi" defeats "Neftchi". With the collapse of Inshaatchi, Aydin also came to Neftchi and laid the foundation for the brothers to play in the same team. Alakbarov's joint performance in "Neftchi" is successful and brings the continuation of the titles. Increasing the number of clear trophies in "Neftchi", he won two consecutive years - in 1994 and 1995, but this time together with Samir. In the 1995/96 season, the Alakbarov brothers experienced the joy of the championship together. After the end of that season, the match of Neftchi, which represents our country in the UEFA Cup, with the Bulgarian club Lokomotiv in Baku is different for the brothers. Samir, one of the best players of that match, is remembered for his productive pass, and Aydin received a red card for hitting his opponent.
The Alakbarovs, who met APOEL of Southern Cyprus for the first time in the European Cups in 1995, have not made their third consecutive appearance in continental tournaments. However, in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, the flagship faced the Polish club Widzew. However, after the scandalous 1996/1997 season, the split of the team against AFFA had an impact on the brothers' future careers. Samir's remarks to former AFFA President Fuad Musayev cost him two years in prison. This severe punishment has dealt a severe blow to his football career. Samir's practice, which should be limited to training, shows how blind he is from the yellow after his return to the green. The Neftchi striker, who did not turn his back on Samir during his suspension, rarely uses his services after his sentence expires. Neftchi's top scorer (138), winner of the Azerbaijan Championship (1992, 1996, 1997), Cup (1996), Super Cup (1993), the best football player of Azerbaijan (1991, 1992, 1993), the best player of the national championship The bomber (1993) left the home team in 1999.
Samir Alakbarov also started his coaching career at Neftchi. He won the national championship (2004, 2005) and the cup (2004) with our team, where he worked as a coach from 2002 to 2006.
