He was born on July 20, 1989 in Baku. Elmir Huseynov started playing football at the age of 9 in "Shafa". Although he played for "Inter" until the age of 19, he left football due to his education.

His love for football brought him back to this sport as a coach. He worked as a coach at the "Galatasaray" Baku football school and "Inter" substitutes, and as a head coach at the "Inter" academy.

He has UEFA "B" category coaching license.
