In the years after the Great Patriotic War, as in all areas, the situation in sports was difficult. Although practical work was being done everywhere to get out of the crisis, it took several years for life to return to normal. As there were no traces of children's football schools, as in other allied republics, Azerbaijan's No. 1 team was hoping for young people. Anatoly Terentyev's way to our team was opened at that time. He was involved in the replacement staff of "Neftchi" in 1950. A year later, Terentyev joined the main staff. At that time, the flagship was competing in Class A.

However, our team called Neftyanik fell into the B class at that time. After Alakbar Mammadov and Yuri Kuznetsov left Neftyanik, Anatoly Terentyev became one of the leaders of the team. Terentyev also took part in the opening match of the stadium named after Tofig Bahramov. In the same match held in 1951, our team defeated Vilnius Spatrak. Terentyev recalls that day: “There was a big crowd in the stadium. Everyone was happy. Because at that time the largest stadium in the Caucasus was opened in Baku. The leadership of the republic, including Mirjafar Bagirov, attended the opening ceremony. Before the football match, footballs were thrown on the field from the planes circling over the stadium.

Terentyev is one of the few players who has played successfully in all positions. The coaches would send Terentyev wherever there was a gap. In 1955, Valery Timakov transferred Terentyev to midfield after two years as a full-back under Viktor Novikov. Tolik played confidently in this position and justified the confidence of the coaches. Under Boris Arkadyev, the player was tested as a central defender. Contrary to expectations, still successful! Terentyev, who defended the honor of our team for 11 years, also wore the captain's armband in the last 3 seasons. In the best years of his career, Moscow Torpedo and Chisinau Moldova wanted to see our compatriot in their squad. But Tolik, who loved Baku very much, could not leave.

One of them is dearer to a player who has scored 26 goals in his career. In the match against the Kyrgyz club at the Republic Stadium, Terentyev scored a "nine" from about 40 meters.

After hanging his boots, Terentyev worked for some time at a children's football school under the leadership of Vladimir Karmayev. After working there for two years, Krapotkin turned to Lokomotiv. He worked as a head coach for 3 years at the club, which played in the championship of Krasnodar region. After returning to his homeland, Terentyev also worked as a physical education instructor at the refinery. Tolik also dedicated the last years of his life to his favorite Neftchi. Initially, Terentyev, who worked as a locksmith at our team, even "tasted" the profession of a cook in the boiler room.
