As Neftchi PFC, we would like to inform the public that for a long time there has been a continuous smear campaign against the club, management and players on the website www.sportinfo.az, which is biased, untrue and does not comply with the ethical rules of journalism. It is unacceptable to write and disseminate such information about Neftchi PFC, the favorite of millions of people, the flagship of Azerbaijani football, which does not reflect the truth, and is criticized and insulted, and it is a great disrespect to those who love the club.

In this regard, PFC "Neftchi" officially appealed to the Azerbaijan Federation of Sports Journalists (AFSJ) on April 28, 2020 for consideration. On May 1, 2020, the AIFF Board of Directors considered the appeal and issued a statement calling for an end to the smear campaign against Neftchi PFC, the publication of articles insulting the club's management and members.

As Neftchi PFC, as a club, we have always respected the work of journalists and supported them in such a difficult and responsible job. We have welcomed any impartial criticism and have always been open to the media, helping journalists to convey accurate and truthful information about our club to the public. On behalf of Neftchi PFC, we once again express our gratitude to the media representatives who are doing their job with honor, honesty, without violating the ethical rules of journalism, without touching or insulting people's private lives.

We would like to note that the above-mentioned site and its management continue to publish articles insulting the club's management and members in various ways. We will take the next steps against these and other activities that damage the image of our club and inform the public about it.
