Neftchi captain Emin Mahmudov praised the victory over Shkupi. In the second goal, the author of assist said that the team must play better to be successful in the Euroleague:

"It was a very difficult game. We had a hard time attacking because the opponent played too close. We wanted to play more from the wing because the opponent was pushing us from the center. As a result we scored after a wing pass. We have to control the game more. Thank God, we passed the stage, but we have to play better to be successful in the Europa League. Our coach instructed us to play less from the center, so the opponent could not create a counterattack in the second half, except for the last minute.
