Today, 27 years have passed from the day of signing of the "Contract of the Century". A ‘Production Sharing Agreement on the Joint Development of the Deep Water Reserves of Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli’ was signed between State Oil Company (SOCAR) and well-known oil companies of the world at the Gulustan Palace in Baku on September 20, 1994.According to the Decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev dated August 16, 2001, September 20 is celebrated annually in Azerbaijan as the professional holiday of oil workers - "Oil Workers' Day".
