Jens Andersson, one of the experienced and well-known football functionaries of Europe, sports director of Sweden national team, signed a contract with “Neftçi” PFK. Andersson was appointed as the sports director of “Neftçi”.

50-year-old specialist worked as a sports director in clubs of his country "AIK Solna" (2010-2013, 2014, 2018-2020), Croatian "Hajduk Split" (2013), and Danish "Aarhus" (2014-2016). Experienced specialist has worked as a sports director in the Swedish national team since 2022.

Jens Andersson has been instrumental in recent reforms to Sweden's national teams for all age groups, as well as successful women's national team.

Entrusting Jens Andersson as sports director at “Neftçi” PFK once again confirms the seriousness of the club's stated intentions at beginning of season regarding the construction of a new structure and system based on advanced European practices.

One of the club's strategic goals for the near future is the implementation of quality and fundamental changes in Academy, discovery of young talents, their further development and improvement of the system of their proper involvement in the main team. These strategic goals also include the establishment of an advanced, comprehensive scouting system that allows for the planning and implementation of an efficient and long-term transfer policy.

It is an important goal to inculcate the single, unique game philosophy and sports ethics of “Neftçi” to teams of all age groups of club.

In addition, it is planned to introduce advanced and artificial intelligence-based technologies to analyze both the team as a whole and individual players, as well as the club's potential transfer performance and other necessary tactical indicators.

We would like to note that the reforms carried out in the club are ongoing and new, radical changes are expected.

Zaur Azizov, currently working as a sports director, remains at club and will continue to work for the development of club together with new sports director.
