Namik Will Go Through A Surgery
The condition of Namik Alaskarov, who was hit in the face by an opponent in the 43rd minute of the first match against Greek Olympiacos in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, has been clarified. The team's chief doctor Shaig Zohrabli made a statement on the club's official website:
"Namik had initial interventions first on the field and then in the locker room due to an injury sustained during the game. He then went to a clinic near the stadium to confirm his diagnosis and had a CT scan of his skull. As a result, 3 fractures were observed in the wings of the nose, frontal and lateral bones. The hospital was re-intervened. Then Namik was brought to Baku under our maximum supervision and was placed in the clinic today. Both maxillofacial surgeons and nasopharyngeal doctors have generally concluded that the main problem with Namik's condition at the moment is a fracture in the frontal and lateral parts of the jawbone. As a result, the contents and small air bubbles leaking into the surface must be processed first. After a meeting with nasopharyngeal surgeons, we decided that there was no need for emergency surgery because of the fractures in the nasal bones. In other words, there are no serious concerns about the nasal wall at the moment. This operation can be performed later for reconstruction and plastic purposes, if necessary. However, surgery was planned for a defect in the maxilla. This operation will be performed tomorrow. Then, for a maximum of one month, both treatment and rehabilitation issues will be resolved and Namik will join the trainings with the team.
It should be noted that Namik Alaskarov, who was the top scorer in the Premier League last season, scored a goal in both matches of the first qualifying round of the Champions League against Dinamo Tbilisi this season.
